“My least favorite houseguest would probably be Austin Matelson,” says Eric Shi (screen name Eeric), who wins our $100 prize for getting the highest prediction accuracy predicting “Big Brother” Week 5. “Austin is just super creepy around Liz and is even willing to risk his game in order to save her, which is crazy. This is ‘Big Brother,’ not ‘The Bachelor’!”
Can YOU take down Shi to win our “Big Brother” prediction contest? Hurry — make your predictions for Week 6 and you could win our prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down and predicting who’ll be evicted next.
Shi is 18 years old and hails from Houston, Texas where he is a student. This user’s winning predictions for Week 5 were that Jackie would win HOH, that Becky, Liz, Clay and James would be nominated for eviction, that Clay would win the Veto, that the Veto would be used and that Jason would be eliminated. He only missed out on calling that Vanessa would also win the HOH comp, so his score for the week was 89%.
Shi tells us, “I am enjoying this season. It’s not the best ever, but it’s most definitely not the worst. For my predictions this week, there were some things that were easy to pick up on, like Jackie putting up Liz since Liz put her up last week. Speaking of which, I was so surprised that I correctly predicted that Jackie would win Head of Household. That’s probably what helped me win this week.”
Who are Shi’s favorite and least favorite houseguests this season? “As of right now, my predicted winner is John McGuire. He is very well liked by the houseguests and he’s not on anyone’s radar right now, but he also has shown that he can win competitions with his two Veto wins and a Battle of the Block win. I’m also starting to like Jackie and Meg now that they seem to be fired up and ready to play the game. I’m also looking forward to Julia.”
“Besides Austin, my other least favorite houseguest is Vanessa Rousso,” Shi explains. “Vanessa is just extremely paranoid and she constantly states she hates being lied to (and again, this is ‘Big Brother,’ so chill, Vanessa). But she is playing a better game than her allies and seems to be less of a target than the rest of the Sixth Sense, so props to her on that.”
Shi concludes, “Last thing: Thank God the Battle of the Block is over!”

Who will win the Veto competition?
Will the Veto be used?
Which houseguest will be evicted?
Who will win ‘Big Brother’?
Making your predictions is fun and easy. Just log into your Gold Derby account, or you can register for a free account via Facebook, Twitter or Google.
After logging in, click on the “Predictions” button found at the top-right of every page. That will bring you to a list of every event currently being predicted at Gold Derby — everything from the Emmys and Television Critics Association Awards to “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Survivor.”
Click on any box and then scroll down to start making your predictions. For each TV show, cast your votes on several different questions relating to the upcoming episode.
If you click on the “Big Brother” button, you’ll see something like this:
To vote for who you think will be eliminated next, drag your chosen contestant over from the left to the right. For example, if you think Becky will get the boot, make sure you put her in first place.
Every time someone logs their predictions, the racetrack odds of the contestants are automatically updated. If the majority of users think Becky will go home, that means she’ll have the best odds and will go to the front of the pack. Conversely, the contestants who don’t receive many predictions have the worst odds and will go to the bottom of the pile.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
Average Gold Derby users just like YOU often turn out to be our smartest prognosticators, so it’s important that you give us your predictions. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
