Watch our Editors clash over Emmy predictions (video slugfest)

Our Editors really come out swinging when Tom O'Neil, Rob Licuria and Daniel Montgomery take on Charles Bright and Ralph Galvan for refusing to agree that Jeffrey Tambor ("Transparent") will win Best Comedy Actor at the Emmys. Bright's betting on a repeat by "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons, who's prevailed four times in the past six years; Galvan foresees an upset by "Shameless" thesp William H. Macy.

That is just where the arguments begin. Throughout the rest of the slugfest, these hot-headed pundits also clash over the other top Emmy categories for drama and comedy series. 1. I would like to see, Eva Green, Tatiana Maslany, Vera Farmiga, Lizzy Caplan, Viola Davis, and Tiraji P. Henson in Drama Actress, if that happens it would truly be a competition of the best performances of the year. I think they should’nt nominate Julianna Margulies and Claire Danes, they’ve taken over this category the last 4-5 years, they should move on and start watching other great performances that deserve the same amount of recognition.

  2. Tom, you’re an industry man so unlike the Outlander fans who aren’t, I’d expect better from you than to think Caitriona Balfe honestly has a shot at getting nominated. I’m a fan of the show and I know no way in hell is anyone on that show getting nominated for anything. Their best bet (and even this is a long shot) are tech noms, maybe for costumes or set design or cinematography but I wouldn’t hold my breath on those either. Certainly no major nominations in a year that is jam-packed with such stiff competition in the drama categories.
