Hozier may have been a Grammy favorite last year, when he was nominated for Song of the Year for "Take Me to Church," but he wasn't so lucky this time around. Recording academy voters snubbed him across the board, including Best New Artist, which we thought he'd win. (See the complete list of nominations here and read a recap of the roster here.)
Our forum posters have exploded with outrage over who was denied a chance to contend for these kudos which will be handed out on Feb. 15. Below, just a sampling of their thoughts.
Which artists, albums and songs that went MIA this year have you most riled? Have your say here.
bondzzz: LOL. Our prediction of Hozier winning I guess is not happening.
glamorous: Meghan Trainor not receiving any pop nominations.
Kadu335: Quite upset that Kacey Musgraves only got one nom (Best Country Album). I was expecting at least two more (Country Duo and Country Song) … Not that I was endorsing it, but I'm quite surprise Meghan Trainor isn't featured more in the pop categories… her only nomination in Best New Artist.
Back To Basics: Honey, I just knew Foo Fighters would be an Album of the Year nominee. I'm kind of shocked. What's even more surprising is that they were snubbed in Best Rock Album.
ProfessorChaos: I'd also say the lack of the Top 40-friendly EDM acts not named Diplo & Skrillex (Zedd, Calvin Harris, DJ Snake, Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Diplo's Major Lazer) in the dance categories [is surprising].
Manuelcolon: Lana Del Rey being snubbed for the second year in a row, with a deserving album. It makes me upset how they nominated her for "Paradise" with no reason, and now they just don't want to give her a nomination again.
TWGagamon: Major Lazer's "Lean On" snubbed in everything.
