Unfortunately, there were no knock-out acceptance speeches at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards gala held at Tao Downtown restaurant in Manhattan on Monday night. But since I had a nifty seat at the front table, I was able to nab close-up footage of most key moments at the podium. The audio isn’t great, my shaky hand can make you dizzy and the winners look a bit washed out — sorry. Blame iPhone.
Turns out I missed shooting the highlight of the night: Bill Murray’s introduction of Adrienne Mancia, who won an honorary prize for her long service as curator of the film department at the Museum of Modern Art. However, I was able to grab video of the rest for you – Jon Stewart presenting Best Picture to Richard Linklater, plus acceptance speeches by Best Actor Timothy Spall, Best Actress Marion Cotillard, Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons and Supporting Actress Patricia Arquette.
BEST PICTURE: Jon Stewart & Richard Linklater
BEST ACTOR: Timothy Spall
