We’re in the final stretch of the 14th season of “Project Runway,” and with only four designers left it’s time to assess their Gold Derby odds against their past performances with the judges. Is Ashley’s season-long popularity with our readers indicative of a pre-ordained victory? Will Kelly’s star continue to rise and lead her to an unexpected win? Does Edmond have what it takes to best three women? Can Candice outshine the others while adhering to her dark aesthetic? Hurry — make your predictions for the Season 14 finale and you could win our prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy, so get started by scrolling down to predict which designer will win.
Candice enters the final stretch ranked third by both statistical measures, but her performances are relatively inconsistent. She’s been solid all season, but “solid” suggests predictability. For Candice to win she’ll need to present some show stoppers in her final collection to trump the typically daring choices of the other designers.
Without a doubt, Edmond is the safe bet to win — he’s performed really well with the judges and continues to impress Gold Derby readers. But my guess is that because Edmond is the only male designer left in the competition, the judges are feeling the vibes of the women and will likely name a female winner this year.
If Kelly’s win two weeks ago didn’t shock our readers, then her second consecutive (and third overall) win this week surely did and, let’s face it, that kind of momentum heading into the final few episodes can’t be ignored. Our contest players may be underestimating this rising star, whose unique style may have struck the right chord with the judges when compared to the competition.
It’s hard to place Ashley anywhere other than the top as she’s been here all season long with our readers. Although she’s been next in line for elimination the last two weeks, the judges have shown a lot of faith in Ashley and Tim Gunn seems to be firmly on her side as well. Her lack of confidence is still an issue, but I suspect that given time at home away from the competition she’ll find her voice and blossom into a very strong contender for the win.

Who will come in fourth place?
After logging in, click on the “Predictions” button found at the top-right of every page. That will bring you to a list of every event currently being predicted at Gold Derby — everything from the Oscars to “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race.”
Click on any box and then scroll down to start making your predictions. For each TV show, cast your votes on several different questions relating to the upcoming episode. If you click on the “Project Runway” button, you’ll see something like this:
To vote for who you think will win, drag your chosen designer over from the left to the right. Every time someone logs their predictions, the racetrack odds of the contestants are automatically updated.
If the majority of readers think Ashley will win, that means she’ll have the best odds and will go to the front of the pack. Conversely, the contestants who don’t receive many predictions have the worst odds and will go to the bottom of the pile.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
Average Gold Derby users just like YOU often turn out to be our smartest prognosticators, so it’s important that you give us your predictions. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
