This season of “SYTYCD” differs from previous years. For the first time, the contest has been divided between 10 “stage” dancers and 10 “street” dancers, with one dancer from each side set to be eliminated each week before a single winner is crowned at the end of the season.
Stage dancers include specialists in styles like jazz, ballroom and ballet, while street dancers perform in styles like hip-hop, breaking and animation. Lauture is a street dancer who specializes in locking. The 29-year-old from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, has no formal dance training, but he leads our early predictions with 12/5 odds.

Payne is a stage dancer who specializes in jazz. The 20-year-old has also been trained in ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, tap and ballroom. That versatility may make her a force to be reckoned with.

At age 18, Parra is one of this season’s youngest dancers. He was formally trained at Elevation Studios and specializes in contemporary dance.
