“Survivor: Worlds Apart” came to a close Wednesday night with Mike Holloway earning the title of Sole Survivor. But how did the other four contestants place in the game for the landmark 30th season? And did YOU predict the results?
We were also correct that Carolyn Rivera (13/5 odds; 28%) would come in second place. However, the jury threw us a curveball by declaring a tie between Carolyn and Will Sims (50/1 odds; 2%) for the runner-up position, as both of them wound up with a single vote to win. If you predicted either Carolyn or Will in your second or third positions, you got those questions correct.
Our users correctly called Rodney Lavoie‘s elimination in fourth place (50/1 odds; 2%), but we were way off with Sierra Thomas‘ ranking. We thought she’d come in third place with 6/1 odds and 14%, but she actually was the show’s fifth-place finisher.
In our “Survivor” predictions center, we’ve been asking users like YOU to predict the ultimate winner all season long. Hundreds of users cast their votes, but only one claims Gold Derby’s prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate and eternal bragging rights: Benutty.
Benutty answered every question this season and tops our overall Season 30 leaderboard with 69% prediction accuracy.
He actually ties with another user, Smartdude, for the best accuracy, though Benutty broke the tie by having a higher point total (147,400) thanks to locking in the best odds at the right time and using his 500 and 200 point bets wisely.
We have a second prize to give away as well, as Turd Ferguson (hopefully not his given name) did the best at scoring the Season 30 finale. If eligible, as per our contest rules, he will win a $100 Amazon gift certificate.
He’s one of only seven people to reap perfect 100% accuracy while predicting the season finale, though he broke the tie with his high point score (11,261) thanks to using his special 500 and 200 point bets wisely. See finale episode leaderboard.
“Survivor: Worlds Apart” may be over, but we are forecasting everything from the results on TV shows like “Survivor: Second Chance” and “Game of Thrones” to the winners of the Emmys, Critics’ Choice TV Awards and Tonys.
Average Gold Derby users just like YOU often turn out to be our smartest prognosticators, so it’s important that you give us your predictions. You can change them later as often as you like.
