Congratulations to our user Sunhound for winning this week’s episode contest. He’s one of a dozen people to reap perfect 100% prediction accuracy while predicting Episode 13, titled “My Word is My Bond,” though he broke the tie with his high point score (25,480) thanks to using his special 500 and 200 point bets wisely. If eligible, as per our contest rules, he will win a $100 Amazon gift certificate.
This user’s winning predictions were that Dan would be sent packing, that Mike Holloway would win the Immunity challenge, that Will Sims would be among the multiple winners of the Reward challenge, that a hidden Immunity idol would be played, that nobody would quit the game and that Dan would use his special two-vote advantage.
Sunhound earned 200 points for correctly predicting Dan’s elimination. However, his biggest point haul (25,000) came for placing his 500 point bet on Will winning the Reward challenge when he had odds of 50/1. That’s where the strategy — and fun — comes into play here at Gold Derby when making your weekly predictions.
Of the remaining five castaways, Sunhound believes that Mike will be the winner of Season 30. Who do YOU think will win “Survivor: Worlds Apart”?
Be sure to visit our predictions center and make/update your forecasts before voting closes Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT. Don’t forget, we’re giving away two $100 Amazon gift certificates this week: one to the user who does the best at predicting the finale and the other to the user who has the best overall season score.
Where do you fall on our overall Season 30 leaderboard?
All season long, three users — Smartdude, Benutty, Taloson — have been battling it out for the top spot, and this week Smartdude remained in the #1 position on our leaderboard with his “smart” predictions of Episode 13. He now has leading 70% prediction accuracy while Benutty and Taloson are tied in second place with 67%. Talk about a true nail-biter!
Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “Survivor” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for the season finale is Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.
Our current overall leader Smartdude predicted Dan’s elimination this week and Tyler’s last week. However, he missed calling the two prior back-to-back ousters of Jenn and Shirin (see complete predix), proving that it’s possible to do well in our contests without getting everything right.
Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.
To vote for who you think will win “Survivor” and who will place second, third, fourth and fifth, be sure to visit our predictions center. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
