‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ cliffhanger: Are Tyler and Carolyn in perfect position to win?

Now that my pick to win the season, Kelly Remington, has been booted off of “Survivor: Worlds Apart,” I’m agonizing over which castaway I should predict in her place: Los Angeles native Tyler Fredrickson or Tampa, FL executive Carolyn Rivera? Hurry — make your predictions now and you could win our weekly prize of a $100 Amazon gift certificate. It’s fun and easy!

Who will win ‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’? See exclusive predictions!

I think Tyler and Carolyn both have what it take to make it to the end, thanks mostly to their super-secret alliance that’s lasted since day three. They’re also well-liked and Carolyn still has that hidden Immunity idol in her pocket. During last week’s merge episode, Tyler and Carolyn made the decision (along with Shirin Oskooi and Will Sims) to join with the other Blue Collars, so they’re now in a strong alliance with plenty of numbers to take them far in the game.

According to exclusive Gold Derby predictions, Tyler is in third place to win the season with 9/2 odds, while Carolyn is in fifth place with 14/1 odds. Essentially what that means is that if I place my bet on either of them and I end up being correct, I’ll earn more points than the readers who are backing frontrunners Joe Anglim and Jenn Brown, as Tyler and Carolyn’s odds aren’t as good.

For now, I’ll go with Carolyn since she’s less of a physical threat than Tyler and she has that idol. Who do you think I should place my winner’s bet on? Tell me in the comments section below.

Congratulations to our user Zachary Hardy (GOZacharyHardy) for winning last week’s episode contest. This reader wins a $100 Amazon gift certificate for being the only user to reap 75% accuracy (see complete predix).

His winning predictions were that Kelly would go home, that Joe would win the Immunity challenge and that a hidden Immunity idol would be played. He only missed out on predicting that No One would win the Reward challenge, instead forecasting Joe would prevail there.

Zachary is 28 years old and hails from Macon, GA where he’s a volunteer. Does he have any insights on how to make successful predictions at Gold Derby? “The best way I know what to bet on is to check the site every day to see which bet has the best odds,” he shares. “The ones with the best odds get bumped to the top of the prediction list.”

And who does Zachary betting on for the title of Sole Survivor? “Tyler, because he has the right combination of intelligence and cunning.”

Where do you fall on our overall Season 30 leaderboard?

For the entire season so far, two of our users are tied with 68% accuracy, though they’re separated by their point scores: Smartdude is in first place with 77,238 points and Taloson is in second place with 21,743 points.

Just behind them in third place is Benutty with 64% accuracy, fourth place is CarlinhosFelipe with 61% accuracy, and there’s a tie for fifth place as both JasonNolette and GOZacharyHardy have 54% accuracy.

Can YOU beat these frontrunners to win our prizes? Then be sure to take part in our “Survivor” prediction contest. We’re giving away $100 Amazon gift certificates to our weekly winners plus at season’s end. The deadline for each episode is Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT.

Our current overall leader Smartdude missed out on calling the elimination of Joaquin Souberbielle last week, however he did accurately predict that Kelly would go home this week (see complete predix). Smartdude did so well at predicting previous “Survivor” episodes that he’s still our #1 reader to take down, proving that it’s possible to do well in our contests without getting everything right.

Remember that coming out on top doesn’t just mean answering that week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your three big bets (500 points and two of 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points, so don’t take them for granted.

To vote for who think will go home next on “Survivor,” drag contestants over from the left to the right and arrange them in your predicted order. For example, if you think Jenn will be eliminated, make sure you put her in first place. You can continue to update and change your predictions throughout the week, just click “Save Predictions” when you’ve settled on your choice.
