“The Last Man on Earth” fans, did you miss any of our exclusive Emmy webchats with the cast and crew of the Fox comedy series? We’ve listed them all below for your viewing pleasure, including our interviews with show leads Will Forte and Kristen Schaal and creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
Will Forte on playing unlikable Phil Miller: “Certainly when we went into this pilot, just by its nature, you’re rooting for this guy because you see him all alone and you feel great sympathy for him. But he was never a perfect person and he’s just like every person out there — he’s got his own flaws.”
Kristen Schaal on her hush-hush role: “I think [Fox] was a little nervous about whether or not people would tune in if they didn’t know if there was a larger cast, so I’m glad that they kept it a secret for as long as they did.”
Phil Lord and Chris Miller on show’s growing cast: “[Our show] is like a reverse ‘Game of Thrones,’ where instead of killing people off, we were adding people.”
BONUS PODCAST: Cinematographer Christian Sprenger on finding the show’s style: “It takes place in a desert, and there’s lots of hot, direct sunlight, and we really liked the confidence in the photography that they had to let things be dark or let things be super bright.”
