What just happened to Blake Shelton and his team on “The Voice“? The four-time winning coach lost two out of his three remaining artists when both Hannah Kirby and Corey Kent White were eliminated Tuesday night. Did you see both of these ejections coming? If so, why are you not taking part in our “Voice” predictions contest. You could win a $100 Amazon gift certificate and a place of honor on our leaderboards by predicting each week’s results.
After being predicted to leave before, Kirby was once again projected to be gone. Based on our official Gold Derby odds — which are calculated on predictions from people just like you — she had leading 23/10 odds to exit. On the other hand, White was more of a surprise with 20/1 odds to be eliminated. Team Adam Levine member Joshua Davis was the other person projected to be booted out with 10/3 odds, but he was safe this week after all.
Do you have what it takes to be the best among the most fervent fans of “The Voice”? You have until 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET next Tuesday, May 5, to predict the results for the Top 6 week. It’s fun and easy, so start now by scrolling down and predicting which two artists will be eliminated next time.
Shelton now has only one remaining artist for this season: former country singer Meghan Linsey. Levine, a two-time winning coach himself, only has Davis still in contention.
Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams have not coached a winning artist before, but each of them has two in the Top 6. Aguilera’s contenders are Kimberly Nichole and India Carney, who had to fight for her spot with an instant Twitter save on Tuesday. Williams has teenagers Sawyer Fredericks and Koryn Hawthorne remaining on his team.
In fact, with such long odds for elimination for both of his remaining artists, it is not surprising that Williams has leading odds of 8/11 to be the coach of the winner in just his second season on the show. That champ would potentially be Fredericks, who has 6/5 odds to prevail overall.
For the bottom three on Tuesday’s show, they had to perform songs near the end of the episode to avoid elimination. Kirby sang “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons. White performed “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban. Carney sang “Human” by Christina Perri and was the artist redeemed by the last-minute public vote.
And now, things get even tighter among just six possible winners for this season. As you narrow down your choices for next week’s competition, you shouldn’t only consider their performances but also their social media followings. Those numbers can tell you who may do well in the popular vote each week. (Read more about this key factor for making your predictions HERE.)
When making your predictions this week, remember that coming out on top in our contest doesn’t just mean answering the week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your big bets (500 points and 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points. As we use those point totals to break ties when more than one user tops our leaderboard with the same number of correct answers, don’t take them for granted.
For this week’s prediction contest, Taloson and Radzie tie with the only perfect scores. Because Taloson has the better point score of 4,500 to 4,450 for Radzie, he is declared our winner for this week’s contest. He won 3,400 points on a 200-point bet that both White (14/1) and Kirby (3/1) would be eliminated. He won another 1,100 points when Carney was a 11/2 bet to be in the bottom three.
If Taloson is eligible, as per our contest rules, he will win a $100 Amazon gift card.
Our overall leader for this eighth season of “The Voice” is still Denton Davidson. He missed one answer this week (choosing Hawthorne over White), but has correctly picked 11 out of 12 answers this year. His current score is 92% accuracy, so he is still on pace to be our champ.
