Sawyer Fredericks is overwhelming 1/4 favorite to win ‘The Voice’

Throughout the live shows, 16-year-old Sawyer Fredericks has been the frontrunner to win “The Voice.” If that happens on Tuesday, it will also mean a first victory for his coach Pharrell Williams, who joined the NBC reality program last year. Whether you agree or disagree that Fredericks will prevail, why are you not taking part in our “Voice” predictions contest. You could win a $100 Amazon gift certificate and a place of honor on our leaderboards by predicting the results for this week’s finale.

The rise of Fredericks has been steady in terms of your predictions, but he hasn’t always been your overwhelming favorite to win. Look at the chart above with the blue line to see that he had a lowly status of only 38% picking him when the live shows started in early April. He then had a huge peak the following week up to 90%, and then a steep drop as the artists began to be better known. Since then, however, he has been moving up the charts to his current frontrunner status with 80% on his side.

Now that the race is almost at the finish line, you shouldn’t only consider their performances on Monday but also their social media followings. Those numbers can tell you who may do well in the popular vote for Tuesday night’s results show. (Read more about this key factor for making your predictions HERE.)

When making your predictions this week, remember that coming out on top in our contest doesn’t just mean answering all of this week’s questions correctly. You also have to use your big bets (500 points and 200 points) strategically to score the most game points. If you bet on a longshot who pulls off an upset, you can really rack up the points. As we use those point totals to break ties when more than one user tops our leaderboard with the same number of correct answers, don’t take them for granted.

For last week’s prediction contest, Sunhound tied with 24 other people with 100% perfect scores. Because he had the best score of 2,420, he was declared our champ of that large group. He won 420 points on a 200-point bet when Carney had 21/10 odds to be eliminated. He also earned 2,000 points on a 500-point bet that Hawthorne would be in the bottom at 4/1 odds. If he is eligible as per our contest rules, he will be awarded a $100 Amazon gift card.

Our overall leader for this eighth season of “The Voice” is still Denton Davidson. He missed one of the two answers last week, but has correctly picked 12 out of 16 answers this year. His current score is 75% accuracy, so he is still on pace to be our champ. Jason Nolette is in second place at 69 and then Sunhound at 63%.

And now it’s time to make your picks for one last chance at glory this season.

  1. I would like to hear Meghan Lensy sing “The power of love” by Celine Deon And Joshua Davis sing the “The Boxer” by Simon &Gurfungkle…in the final show.. this would be outstanding performance… from Wayne.. Malaysia

  2. i believe Sawyer has a very natural talent and does not have to try to outdo anybody, he just being himself I just love this young man. We are blesses to see him perform.

  3. Sawyer Fredericks by far is much better than any of the others. There is no comparison in who will win. His lows variate with the highs in such a perfect harmony. You appreciate not only his voice but the way he can bring out meaning and intention from each word and note. Not only is he better than all the competitors but I’d say he could be one of the best of all times. It’s something rare and special. There is no doubt he will get his well deserved freedom.

  4. Someone very wise said on Sawyers page that it would be stupid to put down any of the other three contestents in hopes of swaying votes to Sawyers side. Its rude. Completely disrespecful of the other talented performers. All my votes have always gone to Sawyer and they will again tonight, but I wish good luck to Koryn, Josh and Meghan on their journey. Good luck to all four of you.

  5. Sawyer has no stage presence and is no more talented than Joshua Davis or Mehan Lindsey. A lot of people are swayed by his age and his unusual hairstyle for a guy. I picked Joshua Davis since the blind auditions. I would buy a ticket to his concert, but not Sawyer’s.

  6. Saywer is sweet ,humble ,and he is shy ,he’s 16 years old ,he deserves to win ,his voice is the best and different .He has the best smile . He has come a long way ,Blake said he is the front runner and I agree

  7. Sawyer is our pick from start to finish!! 🙂 What an amazing talented young country raised man. He has a way of speaking to your heart even though he hasn’t had the life experiences of others that are older.

  8. If Sawyer was around in the 60s one of The Beetles would have been out of a job. Seriously though… this kid has a gift than can make him a musical icon.

  9. PLEEESE vote for Sawyer. I look forward every Monday just to hear Jim sing a couple of songs. Must hear more of this amazing young man.

  10. The gift of song that Sawyer brings to us is truly God given. His ability to relate to a song and express it in his own feelings is what makes him stand in a league of his own. I hope that the music industry takes care of this outstanding performer and allows him to continue to grow. He will be an Icon when his ride over. His parents should be proud of the way they brought him up GREAT JOB

  11. I was shocked when the kid won. Seriously shocked. I thought he had a nice voice but not good enough to vote for. Folks on the net right now seem to agree that he’s some kind of an out-of-this-world, heaven-sent, future “icon”. Please…. As a smart, seasoned senior from a musical family, why didn’t I pick up on his near deity status? He can’t help it that he has a pretty face, but I question why he feels it necessary to have hair longer than most girls. Maybe he doesn’t realize that the 70’s are gone now. And, usually wearing a hat is considered “cool” for a guy but he doesn’t look cool at all; he looks like the president of the “Dork of the Month” club. Others saw a sweet, little farm boy; to me, he appeared to be robotish and maybe from some dark, distant planet. His attempt at smiling kinda scared me a little. If America loves him, I can only assume the end is near.
