Constance Zimmer teases ‘UnReal’ Season 2, dishes Emmys and Critics’ Choice Awards (Exclusive Video)

“That night was super crazy,” Constance Zimmer (“UnReal“) tells Gold Derby about her recent triumph at the Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Supporting Actress. Taking a break from filming Season 2 of the Lifetime hit, Zimmer laughs that her Vancouver cast mates gave her “a lot of crap” for her big victory. “Everyone’s like, where’s the award? Are you gonna bring it and like put it on your desk every day to prove that you won an award?” Watch the complete webchat above.

“I think that it’s fun to be the underdog,” Zimmer continues. “I play underdogs on television and I feel like I’m an underdog as an actor. I’ve been around for so long and it’s just fun to feel like everybody was unbelievably excited for me, and that I think is what made the win even that much greater and that much stronger.”

Coming up next is the Emmy Awards, where Zimmer is a threat to earn her first career nomination. “I honestly don’t even think I can wrap my head around that,” she says. “It seems so surreal and unattainable right now. I think if a nomination happened, I’m not quite sure what I would do with myself. I might not be able to leave the house for a few days because I’d be so emotional.”

As for her unfiltered character Quinn King, the executive producer of show-within-a-show “Everlasting,” Zimmer explains, “The most fun part about playing her is that it’s a challenge. I mean, every day is a challenge. Every time I read a script, I’m like, I don’t know how I’m gonna make that work. I really don’t. Here goes nothing!”

Also in our webchat, Zimmer gives us an exciting tease about the upcoming second season that premieres on Lifetime June 6. “It’s going to be darker and dirtier, and yet somehow three of the characters will find love again in the most oddest of places.”
