As “Dancing with the Stars” host Tom Bergeron revealed on Monday night, Tuesday night’s results show ended with a double elimination — and it’s been a bloodbath for the male celebs. All four eliminated stars so far have been men: first actor Jake T. Austin, then politician Rick Perry, and now this week’s unlucky duo Babyface and Vanilla Ice.

Babyface shot himself on the foot Monday night’s “DWTS” with a tango in which he faltered on most of his timing and choreography with pro partner Allison Holker. That’s a shame because he had shown a lot of promise earlier in the competition. In week two he finished in the top three on the judges’ leaderboard with an Argentine tango that received 30 out of 40 points total, but this week he landed at the bottom, and he didn’t have enough support from viewers at home to overcome that deficit. As of Monday morning we thought Amber Rose would be eliminated, but after Babyface’s problematic dance he rose to second place in our predictions with 5/1 odds.
Ironically, Vanilla Ice was eliminated on his best week. He scored two eights and a seven for his Viennese waltz for a total of 23, but with most of his competitors also making gains in their scores he wasn’t able to rise above the middle of the pack, and he didn’t have the fan support he needed, even though he scored higher than Ryan Lochte and Marilu Henner. That surprised our predictions contest entrants, who ranked him fifth with 33/1 odds of elimination.
That wasn’t the only surprise of the night. There was also a big life change for two of the pros. Sasha Farber, currently paired with reality star Terra Jole on the dance floor, proposed marriage to Emma Slater, whom he’s paired with in real life. Slater said yes, which was fortunate for Farber — rejection on reality TV is supposed to happen on “The Bachelor,” not “Dancing with the Stars” — and then it was doubly lucky for him that “DWTS” viewers didn’t vote to send him home, which also might have put a damper on the occasion. (Slater was already eliminated last week with Rick Perry.) So it looks like they’re both winners regardless of who takes home the Mirror Ball Trophy at the end of the season.
