Insert aquatic puns here: Ryan Lochte is dead in the water. Ryan Lochte is all wet. Ryan Lochte is sunk. Put more simply, we’re expecting Olympic gold medal winning swimmer Lochte to be eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” on “Halloween Night” on October 31. See the current standings below, which are based on the forecasts of our predictions contest entrants, and check out our complete racetrack odds for Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”
- Ryan Lochte — 2/5
- Marilu Henner — 13/2
- James Hinchcliffe — 20/1
- Terra Jole — 22/1
- Jana Kramer — 28/1
- Calvin Johnson — 33/1
- No One — 100/1
- Laurie Hernandez — 100/1
Despite scores that have frequently put him at or near the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard and one dramatic run-in with on-stage protesters, he has survived on the strength of viewers’ votes, but as of this writing our predictions contest entrants think it’s the end of the line.
But Lochte wasn’t at the bottom of the leaderboard last week on “Eras Night” — that was actress Marilu Henner. It was the first time at the bottom for Henner, and she ranks second in our elimination predictions with 13/2 odds. Last week another veteran actress was sent home, Maureen McCormick, so Henner might seem especially vulnerable, but she has the benefit of being paired with six-time “DWTS” winner Derek Hough, who has his own passionate fan base that may vote for him to stay.
Surprisingly, race car driver James Hinchcliffe is third in line for elimination with 20/1 odds. He tied for the top of the leaderboard last week, and since the judges’ scores are paired with viewer votes to determine the elimination it would be mathematically unlikely for his votes to be low enough to send him packing — but maybe not impossible, so correctly betting on a surprise ouster could pay off for users in our predictions contest.
Reality TV star Terra Jole is next with 22/1 odds. Her scores last week put her in the middle of the pack, and that’s a vulnerable place to be as fans may be lulled into a false sense of security and thus not vote. Jole isn’t one of the best known stars this season, so does she have enough fans to keep her in the competition?
Jole was tied on the judges’ leaderboard with singer and actress Jana Kramer, who gets 28/1 odds of elimination. Meanwhile football player Calvin Johnson, who tied Hinchcliffe at the top of the leaderboard, gets 33/1 odds of getting the boot. Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, the frontrunner to win the Mirror Ball Trophy, appears to be safe with distant 100/1 odds.
