For the second week in a row model and actress Amber Rose is expected to be eliminated with 6/5 odds, which would make her the first female celeb to go home on this season of “DWTS,” but we were wrong about that last week. Even with a double elimination Rose stayed in the competition, largely on the strength of a Cirque du Soleil-inspired dance that was her best yet (straight eights, for a total of 24 out of 30), tying her for fourth place on the judges’ leaderboard.
Also in fourth place was actress Maureen McCormick, who gave her best-ever performance as well, but McCormick ranks second in our predictions with 7/2 odds of going home. Will both Rose and McCormick lose all the gains they’ve made with the judges, or will it be viewers at home who let them down by not voting?
Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is next with 11/2 odds. He too improved on “Cirque du Soleil Night” (two sevens and an eight, for a total of 22), but not enough to keep up with his competitors; he was third from the bottom of the leaderboard. But Lochte actually scored lower than Vanilla Ice (23), who was eliminated instead, which indicates that Lochte has a fan base strong enough to vote him out of harm’s way.
After Lochte, our users think there’s a 12/1 chance of a non-elimination round with no one going home this week. Then there’s the possibility of a surprise elimination: Calvin Johnson, thus far a consistently high-scoring dancer, is fifth with 18/1 odds of getting the boot, while actress Marilu Henner, who was the lowest scoring dancer to survive last week’s elimination, gets 33/1 odds of exiting.
Are we underestimating Amber Rose yet again? If her performance Monday night is as good as last week’s we may have to eat our words. You can keep making your predictions for who (if anyone) will be eliminated this week, as well as who will get the highest judges’ score, who will get the lowest score, how many 10s the judges will give out and who will win season 23 of “DWTS.”
