‘Dancing with the Stars’ elimination predictions: Terra Jole will fall short of the finals

No one new exactly what to expect from reality star Terra Jole when season 23 of “Dancing with the Stars” began in September. She’s the first little person ever to compete on the show, but she impressed the judges and audience from the very beginning, and she has made it to the final five. However, it looks like she’ll fall short of the finals according to our predictions. See the current standings below, which are based on the forecasts of our predictions contest entrants, and check out our complete racetrack odds for Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

  1. Terra Jole — 1/2
  2. Calvin Johnson — 11/2
  3. Jana Kramer — 8/1
  4. Laurie Hernandez — 33/1
  5. No One — 40/1
  6. James Hinchcliffe — 100/1

We’re predicting Jole to go home even though she didn’t get the lowest judges’ score last week on “Showstoppers Night.” Actually, the lowest scoring contestant going into tonight’s show was a big surprise: after topping the leaderboard four times this season, race car driver James Hinchcliffe fell to the bottom after just one missed step during his jazz dance cost him crucial points. He actually finished a point ahead of Marilu Henner, but since Henner was eliminated that leaves Hinchcliffe in last place.

But Hinchcliffe has been a consistently strong performer and a surprise breakout star, so as of this writing our predictions contest entrants think he’s the least likely to be eliminated with 100/1 odds. He has undoubtedly earned a lot of new fans this season, but perhaps that gives us a false sense of security: if viewers presume he’s safe no matter what, that complacency really could put him at risk.

If Jole isn’t eliminated our contest entrants think football player Calvin Johnson is next in line. He finished last week tied with Jole and one point ahead of Hinchcliffe, but with just one point separating the bottom three contestants, it’s hard to consider any of them out of danger.

Last week’s highest scorers, gymnast Laurie Hernandez and singer Jana Kramer, have a nice buffer thanks to their perfect judges’ scores, though Kramer actually ranks third in our elimination predictions with 9/1 odds. Could we be in for a shocking exit?
