Model and actress Amber Rose has avoided elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” for the last two weeks in a row, defying our racetrack odds, which are derived from the collective picks of our predictions contest entrants. This week Rose is once again forecast to be eliminated with 4/5 odds of being sent home. Are we right this time? See the current standings below, and check out our complete racetrack odds for Monday night’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”
1. Amber Rose — 4/5
2. Ryan Lochte — 4/1
3. Maureen McCormick — 13/2
4. Terra Jole — 20/1
5. Jana Kramer — 28/1
6. Marilu Henner — 40/1
7. James Hinchcliffe — 100/1
8. Calvin Johnson — 100/1
9. No One — 100/1
10. Laurie Hernandez — 100/1
In week four, “Cirque du Soleil Night,” Rose avoided the chopping block by greatly improving her dance skills and scores (straight eights from the judges, for a total of 24 out of 30); Babyface and Vanilla Ice were sent home instead. Rose got the same scores in week five, when the contestants performed routines inspired by their most memorable years, but her competitors also upped their game so Rose ended up in a four-way tie for last place. That turned out to be a non-elimination round, but those scores will be combined with viewers’ votes determine this week’s elimination, so Rose my be as vulnerable as ever.
But not all of our contest entrants agree that Rose will go home. Swimmer Ryan Lochte is a close second with 7/2 odds. And right behind him is actress Maureen McCormick with 13/2 odds. Rose, Lochte and McCormick were all part of that four-way tie for the lowest judges’ score, even though they got some of their highest scores of the competition so far: for Lochte it was a new personal best, while Rose and McCormick matched their personal-best scores.
However, the other low scorer from last week’s show, football player Calvin Johnson, appears to be safe from elimination according to our predictions. He ranks eighth with 100/1 odds of getting the boot. Is he really that secure? That level of confidence could work against him: if his fans felt he was safe despite his scores they may not have felt enough urgency to vote for him, which could lead to his surprise ouster.
