1. “Game of Thrones” – 7/2 odds to earn nomination
After four years of being an Emmy also-ran, HBO’s “GoT” finally hit it big last year by winning a record-setting 12 Emmys. That total included Best Drama Series, Best Writing, Best Directing and Best Supporting Actor (Peter Dinklage), among others. It’s a lock.
2. “House of Cards” – 9/2 odds to earn nomination
While the fourth season of Netflix’s political drama doesn’t premiere until Friday, March 4, our Top 24 Users still think it’s a safe bet that this prestigious show will once again be one of Emmy’s favorites when nominations are revealed.
3. “Better Call Saul” – 11/2 odds to earn nomination
AMC’s “Breaking Bad” spinoff followed in its parent show’s footsteps by earning top bids at the Emmys last year, including Best Drama Series, Drama Actor (Bob Odenkirk) and Drama Supporting Actor (Jonathan Banks). Season 2 should be no exception say our Top 24.
4. “Mr. Robot” – 6/1 odds to earn nomination
USA’s surprise hit just won Best Drama Series at both the Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice Awards, but are Emmy voters watching? Of note, no USA show has ever earned a series bid at the Emmys so it would be a welcome addition to this year’s drama lineup.
5. “Downton Abbey” – 7/1 odds to earn nomination
The tears are currently flowing for the final season of “Downton Abbey,” whose finale airs Sunday, March 6. Will emotion be able to push the English import to the winner’s circle for its final hurrah? Don’t forget, recently “Breaking Bad” and “The Sopranos” both won for their goodbye seasons.
6. “Orange is the New Black” – 9/1 odds to earn nomination
Our Top 24 Users don’t believe that the flip-flopping of genres for “Orange” will hurt its chances this year, as it’s in their sixth position to earn an Emmy nomination for Best Drama. Remember, the new season will be airing in June as Emmy voting takes place so that’ll keep it in the discussion.
7. “Homeland” – 16/1 odds to earn nomination
Showtime’s anti-terrorism drama has had a unique Emmy trajectory so far, winning Best Drama Series for its first season, being nominated for its second, getting snubbed for its third and then earning a surprise nomination again last year. How will the votes fall for Season 5?
