“We never could have imagined that we’d get a chance to come back,” says Alexis Bledel in a new “Gilmore Girls” featurette in which the cast reminisces about the series and previews the upcoming Netflix revival titled “A Year in the Life,” which premieres November 25 on the streaming service. “There are so many things that are my favorite about doing this show, but honestly just playing this character is my favorite part,” adds Lauren Graham, who stars as Lorelai Gilmore, who ran away from her wealthy family at age 16 when she became pregnant with her daughter Rory, played by Bledel. During the original seven-year run of the show on the WB and then CW network from 2000 to 2007, Graham earned a Golden Globe nomination (2001), two SAG nominations (2000-2001) and two Television Critics Association nominations (2002, 2006), but never an Emmy nom.
“Gilmore Girls” also launched the careers of several actors who have found continued success on the big and small screens. “It’s fun and exciting to be around great memories,” says Milo Ventimiglia, who went on to appear in “Heroes” and now stars in “This is Us.” “Everybody feels very connected and bonded through this show,” adds Liza Weil, now featured on “How to Get Away with Murder.” “Their scripts are so intelligent, witty, and of course there’s the pace with their dialogue that’s like no other,” explains Matt Czuchry, who just completed another long-running show this year, “The Good Wife.”
