Indie Spirits Awards predictions for Spotlight Brie Larson Idris Elba

Congratulations to Kevin Polowy (Yahoo) and Keith Simanton (IMDB) for perfect scores in predicting the 2016 Indie Spirits Awards film winners on Saturday. A total of 15 Experts and over 1,400 people worldwide predicted the winners in 11 categories.

Those champs included “Spotlight five times (picture, director, screenplay, editing, ensemble), Brie Larson for “Room” (actress), Abraham Attah for “Beasts of No Nation” (actor), Mya Taylor for “Tangerine” (supporting actress), and Idris Elba for “Beasts of No Nation” (supporting actor).

After Polowy and Simanton, we then have a seven-way tie in the next spot with 91% correct: Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes), Tariq Khan (Fox News), Paul Sheehan (Gold Derby), Anne Thompson (Thompson on Hollywood), Peter Travers (Rolling Stone), Brian Truitt (USA Today), and Susan Wloszczyna (RogerEbert.com).

The next group of Experts are tied with 82% accuracy: Thelma Adams (Gold Derby), Edward Douglas (Weekend Warrior), Joyce Eng (TV Guide), Jack Mathews (Gold Derby), and Tom O’Neil (Gold Derby). The last spot is held by Adnan Virk (ESPN) with 73% right.
