This Friday you are invited to grab a free ringside seat at Gold Derby’s next — and wildest ever — Oscar predictions slugfest, which will be hosted by University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts from 4 to 5 p.m. PT. Slugging it out with me will be Keith Simanton (IMDb), Nicole Sperling (Entertainment Weekly) and Matt Atchity (Rotten Tomatoes).
While all four of us pundits agree that “La La Land” will win Best Picture (see our prediction charts), we disagree on the alternative that poses its most serious threat: “Moonlight”? “Manchester by the Sea”? “Fences”? And we clash over most other top races, too — divided over Best Actress (Emma Stone vs. Natalie Portman), Supporting Actress (Viola Davis vs. Michelle Williams) and more.
When all of the experts’ predictions are combined, they generate these racetrack odds, which update automatically once per hour.
You should make your own, early Oscar predictions now and change them later as often as you wish. Compete against our experts, editors and users to win prizes for highest accuracy scores. Log in here to get started.
