Oscars 2017 calendar updated: Los Angeles Film Critics Association announces winners on Dec. 4

Three days after the New York Film Critics Circle weighed in with its winners on Dec. 1, it is time for their west coast counterparts to have their say on Sunday (Dec. 4). Such early attention shines the spotlight on many leading contenders before the guilds reveal their choices.

The calendar is starting to get crowded. Voting is already underway for the DGA, PGA and SAG Awards nominations. And by this time next week, the AFI will have revealed its Top 10 and the Critics’ Choice voting will be over.
