[WATCH] ‘Outlander’ creator and production designer tease season 3 (‘Voyager’) at Creative Arts Emmys

“It’s very exciting,” teases “Outlander” showrunner Ronald D. Moore about the upcoming third season of the Starz mega-hit while on the red carpet at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards (watch above). “The third book’s called ‘Voyager’ and it’s as different from the second season as the second was from the first.”

“[Season 3] involves a sea voyage and going to the Caribbean and to Jamaica and it has war elements and more 20th century stuff and back-and-forth time travel elements,” Moore continues. “It’s a big, new, brand-new season.”

Moore was on the red carpet along with production designer Jon Gary Steele to represent both of the show’s Emmy nominations for Season 2: Best Period Costumes and Best Period Production Design.

Moore’s wife Terry Dresbach is the show’s costume designer, but because she’s “very ill,” Moore was on-hand to accept the trophy if her name was called. Unfortunately, “Game of Thrones” won that costume race while “Downton Abbey” took home the production design trophy.

This marks “Outlander’s” third Emmy nomination in two seasons. Last year, music composer Bear McCreary was recognized for the show’s original score, but he lost out to Jeff Beal (“House of Cards”).
