Following the surprise elimination of one-time frontrunner to win, Alex Snyder, on last week’s “Project Runway,” Laurence Basse joins Erin Robertson atop our readers’ expectations for this season’s champion. Erin is still our overall projected winner with 4/7 odds, but Laurence is quickly closing the gap with 6/1 odds this week. Do you agree or disagree with our readers’ findings? Hurry — make your “Project Runway” predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. It’s fun and easy, so start now by predicting who will be out next.
Laurence’s ascension on our winner’s chart is due in large part to Alex’s elimination (how did Tim Gunn not save him?!), but she’s also leaving her own impression on the competition judges — Laurence is one of three designers to not have a low score in any of the first five challenges. Also in that elite group is Erin and last week’s challenge winner Dexter Simmons who still has 66/1 odds of winning “Project Runway,” an eighth place ranking out of only 11 designers.
Ranking in the middle of the pack are Rik Villa, Roberi Parra, Nathalia JMag and Jenni Ricetti all of whom have the same 25/1 odds. Of that group only Rik has won a challenge and Roberi was close to elimination last week. Nathalia has consistently been near the top of the chart each week, but within the competition has had a tough time getting in front of the judges — she has yet to have an individual design called out as either high or low leaving her as the only designer left in the competition to have not received an individual critique from the judges.
In this week’s sixth episode of Season 15, titled “This IS Crying in Fashion,” the designers will be back on their own so it’s definitely a make it work moment for Nathalia and anyone else looking to make a move on Erin’s widening lead.
