Want an up-close-and-personal chance to meet such stars as Eddie Redmayne, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Johnny Depp? The Screen Actors Guild is now offering bleacher seats on the SAG Awards red carpet for film and television fans. All money raised in the special auction going on now through January 17 will benefit the SAG-AFTRA Foundation's children's literacy programs.
DiCaprio ("The Revenant"), Depp ("Black Mass"), and Redmayne ("The Danish Girl") are all nominated in the category of Best Film Actor against Bryan Cranston ("Trumbo") and Michael Fassbender ("Steve Jobs"). Nominees for Best Film Actress are Cate Blanchett ("Carol"), Brie Larson ("Room"), Helen Mirren ("Woman in Gold"), Saoirse Ronan ("Brooklyn"), and Sarah Silverman ("I Smile Back"). All are expected to attend the SAG Awards and could offer opportunities for fans to meet them and get photos and autographs.
Television ensembles nominated this year include comedies "The Big Bang Theory," "Modern Family," "Orange is the New Black," "Transparent," and "Veep plus dramas "Downton Abbey," "Game of Thrones," "Homeland," "House of Cards," and "Mad Men."
The 22nd annual SAG Awards will air live on TBS and TNT on Saturday, January 30. Actress and comedienne Carol Burnett will receive the life achievement award.
