Golden Globe-nominated “Outlander” takes front and center stage in the Starz “For Your Obsession” Emmy Awards mailer this year. After scoring three Globe nominations for Best Drama Series, Drama Actress (Caitriona Balfe) and Drama Supporting Actor (Tobias Menzies) the premium cable network gives “Outlander” priority placement by sending four episodes of the well-received second season to Emmy voters. See photos above.
The “Outlander” episodes included are “Through a Glass, Darkly” (ep. 201), “Not in Scotland anymore” (ep. 202), “Best Laid Schemes …” (ep. 206) and “Faith” (ep. 207). The latter episode is a potential Emmy submission for Balfe, who reaped wide praise for her performance including from Gold Derby founder Tom O’Neil who proclaims, “‘Faith’ is Caitriona’s best episode yet. WOW.”
Other dramas included in the mailer are Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson‘s “Power” and Emmy winners “Black Sails” and “Da Vinci’s Demons.” Starz sent six episodes of their freshman comedy/horror series “Ash vs Evil Dead” to voters: “El Jefe” (ep. 101), “Bait” (ep. 102), “Books From Beyond” (ep. 103), “Ashes to Ashes” (ep. 108), possible Emmy submission for Bruce Campbell “Bound in the Flesh” (ep. 109), and season finale “The Dark One” (ep. 110). LeBron James-produced comedy “Survivor’s Remorse” sent nearly its entire season as did “Blunt Talk” which headlines Golden Globe nominee Patrick Stewart.
“The Dresser,” starring Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Oscar nominee Ian McKellen, is submitted for TV Movie by Starz while Limited Series entries are the critically hailed “The Girlfriend Experience” and Golden Globe-nominated ballet drama “Flesh and Bone.” Starz also included a digital code and website for Emmy voters to catch complete seasons of all its submitted shows.
