“All of my family from hometown Oklahoma were just calling for Zeke’s head,” reveals “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” castoff Chris Hammons to Gold Derby about his family’s reaction to his shocking blindside in Episode 10. “But I wouldn’t say it ruined [Thanksgiving],” he adds about his episode that aired the day before the holiday.

“It was a real, true blindside,” Chris admits. “As soon as I saw my name, I knew I was history. I knew they would not make a move against me unless they had the numbers. The moment that changed the game for me, looking at it now, was when David Wright showed Zeke Smith his idol. I think that did me in. At that point, that kind of gave the edge to Dave.”
After being responsible for three ousters in a row, Chris seemed to be on the top, making all of these important calls. So what happened? “I think I kind of stuck my neck out there as leading the charge a little too early,” he explains. “My game plan was to kind of hide back, but I became too confident because I thought Zeke was in my corner and we felt like Dave would stay with us because we had the numbers to vote Jessica Lewis out.”
Also in our “Survivor 33” podcast, Chris chats about why the Gen X-ers couldn’t work together to pick off the Millennials, whether he ever searched for a hidden immunity idol, what he would do differently if he could play again, and his reaction to Jessica drawing the black rock that sent her home next.
