“They took us to base camp and we went into a room,” reveals “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” castoff Rachel Ako to Gold Derby about where the cast was taken during the cyclone. “I got excited, I thought I was gonna see a room with beds and furniture. But no, it was a gutted room. We laid on a concrete floor, no pillow, it was awful. I was really lying there contemplating whether I should go outside and die in Fiji, cause I would actually rather die in the sand and palm trees than get caved-in in a concrete slab.”
Listen to our full exit interview above and then make your “Survivor” predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. It’s fun and easy, so start now by predicting who will be eliminated next.
Rachel was a member of the Gen X tribe (ages 33-52), but where were the rival Millennials (ages 18-31) evacuated to when the cyclone hit? “I don’t know where the other tribe went. I’m sure because they’re Millennials they probably got to go to their parents’ house for the night.”
Despite that hilarious dig at this season’s twist, she tells us that she’s actually rooting for the Millennials to win Season 33. “Gen X voted me out, so go Millennials!” Rachel laughs. “There’s a lot of great people with good energy on that tribe.” She singles out Adam Klein, Jay Starrett, Michelle Schubert and Mari Takahashi as people with “good vibes.”
Also in our Q&A podcast, Rachel chats about why she voted for Sunday Burquest, why she and CeCe Taylor were on the outs with the Gen X tribe and what she really thought when Jeff Probst called her out on her puzzle skills during the Immunity challenge.
Congratulations to our three readers who tied with perfect 100% accuracy in predicting the “Survivor” season premiere: Dferny, Adam Rock and Gwensphyre. They predicted that Rachel would be eliminated, that the Millennials would win both Reward and Immunity, that no hidden immunity idols would be used and that no one would be medevaced.
