In our recent “Survivor” poll where we asked who’s the best MALE castaway of all time that didn’t win, two men came out on top: Rob Cesternino and Russell Hantz. Rob of “Survivor: The Amazon” and “Survivor: All-Stars” leads that poll with 59%, while Russell of “Survivor: Samoa,” “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains” and “Survivor: Redemption Island” came in second place with 11% of the vote. (Everyone else had less than 10% support from our readers.) Cast your new vote below for whether Rob or Russell is the best non-winner in “Survivor” history.
Our contributor Tom O’Brien recently praised both “Survivor” also-rans in a new photo gallery (click through it above). He said that Rob is “an innovative player” and that “he was aggressive in his gameplay (not always to his benefit), jumping from alliance to alliance, making individual deals along the way.”
And O’Brien had this to say about Russell: “Arguably the most hated contestant in the history of the series, Russell was undoubtedly the series’ savviest by totally ignoring the accepted ‘Survivor’ traditions.”
