“No one wants to be called a goat,” says “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” castoff Sunday Burquest to Gold Derby about Hannah Shapiro‘s comment in the most recent episode. “I was playing the game. I was making moves with people. It wasn’t always visible on screen, but I was, and she knows that. She was playing really hard and she’s really smart and she was looking for any way possible to further herself in the game and that was an easy way for her to do it.”
Listen to our full exit interview above and then make your “Survivor” Season 33 predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. It’s fun and easy, so start now by predicting the finishing order of the Final 6.
“I don’t think it was smart,” she adds about Hannah’s decision to eliminate Sunday in seventh place. “I mean, I’m sitting there [next to big players] and you’re sending me home and I’ve got Jay Starrett and David Wright and Adam Klein sitting around me? But what are you gonna do? My name’s called and I’m just like, ‘What?!'”
Sunday reveals that the hardest part of “Survivor” isn’t the challenges or the weather or the social aspects, but instead it’s “never being able to turn your mind off and never being able to let your guard down.” She explains, “Mentally and emotionally you have to be aware of every single thing that’s going on with every person all the time. You can’t just say, ‘Oh, I’m tired, I think I’m gonna take a nap,’ because you could miss stuff. It just gets mentally exhausting.”
Also in our “Survivor” podcast, Sunday chats about her best moves in the game, why she wanted Jessica Lewis out so badly, who she would have liked to sit next to in the Final 3, and how she cried watching the emotional moment on TV when Adam and Jay talked about their sick mothers.
Heading into the Season 33 finale, the Final 6 are interestingly enough made up of three Millennials (Jay, Adam and Hannah) and three Gen X-ers (David, Ken and Bret). Who will win?
