Rival coach Adam Levine has already declared Alisan Porter as the frontrunner to win “The Voice” this season. What did you think of her performance on Monday of the song “Stay With Me Baby” (watch above)? Give your letter grade A-F in our new poll below.
Porter is a Connecticut native and former child actor who starred in the films “Curly Sue” and “Parenthood.” Her coach for this 10th season of the NBC reality program is pop sensation Christina Aguilera, who has never mentored a winning artist for this show before.
Her song choices so far this season have been “Blue Bayou” by Linda Ronstadt (blind audition), “California Dreamin'” by The Mamas and the Papas (battle round), “River” by Joni Mitchell (knockout round), “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin (live round one), “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato (top 12), and “Stay With Me Baby” by Lorraine Ellison (top 11).
Gold Derby contributing writer John Benutty wrote of her performance on Monday: “There’s no way Porter wasn’t going to slay this song vocally — it’s perfectly in her wheelhouse. The problem with it is that last week “Stone Cold” offered her something to connect so deeply. This week the lack of personal connection to the song leaves the performance as a whole feeling a little hollow.”
And now it’s your chance to grade Porter. Give her an A, B, C, D or F for Monday’s performance.
