Brendan Fletcher picked the perfect time to have his best ever performance on ‘The Voice.’ On Monday’s Top 11 episode for Season 11, he gave an incredible rendition of the Bruce Springsteen tune “The River” (watch above) as the NBC reality show heads into the Top 10 next week. His coach Adam Levine has an excellent team up against long-time rival Blake Shelton plus rookie coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys this season.
Regarding Monday’s performance, our writer Denton Davidson says: “Fletcher took on a classic this week and absolutely knocked it out of the park. There is something so special about his voice; it is unlike anything in popular music today. His ability to emote through his smoky, limited range is fascinating to watch and even better to listen to. With this performance, he has come even further out of his shell and everyone should take notice. Brendan Fletcher can absolutely win this season.”
According to his official NBC bio, “Brendan joined his first band, Structured Chaos, with his older brother when he was 12. After college, Brendan performed every night that he wasn’t working, which gave him the confidence to move to Brooklyn where there was more opportunity.”
Prior to this week’s live show, performances for the year by the New York native have been “Jolene” (blind audition song) by Ray LaMontagne, “Home” (battle song) by Marc Broussard, “Soulshine” (knockout song) by Allman Brothers Band, “To Love Somebody” (top 20) by The Bee Gees, and “Whipping Post” (top 12) by Allman Brothers Band.
