2017 Emmy ballot: See all 33 Special Class Program contenders from ’52nd Academy Of Country Music Awards to ‘WrestleMania 33’

The Emmy Awards honor every type of television programming. While there are a slew of genre awards, there is also one catch-all category — the special class program — that includes awards programs (not honors), variety event programs that are not exclusively made for television, and classical music/dance programs. The one exception is the Emmy Awards, which is not eligible.

The number of such shows entered for Emmy consideration has been fairly static as of late. In 2015 and last year, there were 32 entries; this year that number has increased by one. These 33 special class programs are competing for five slots when nominations are announced on July 13.

All 21,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their ballots for their favorite special class programs. In the past, voters were limited in the number of such shows that they could put forth; this year that cap (which was usually 10 per category) has been lifted. Unlike the Oscars, Emmy voters do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.

As with variety specials, each special class program listed on the ballot has an air date and description.
