This year’s nominees will revealed once again at the civilized hour of 8:30 a.m. PT/ 11:30 a.m. ET on July 13 from the Wolf Theatre at the TV academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood. TV academy chair and CEO Hayma Washington will appear alongside Anna Chlumsky and Shemar Moore.
Chlumsky has reaped Emmy bids for the past four years running for her scene-stealing performance on the HBO comedy “Veep.” The pressure on her to make it five in a row is even greater now that she will be announcing the Emmy Awards nominations. Joining her at the podium will be Moore, star of the long-running “Criminal Minds” and the upcoming “S.W.A.T.” Let’s hope he is the one charged with reading the contenders in her category, Best Comedy Supporting Actress.
Last year, Anthony Anderson was one of the two TV stars tapped to unveil the Emmy roster and he was delighted when his co-presenter, Lauren Graham, told him that he had been nominated as Best Comedy Actor for “black-ish.”
Announcing the famous folk who would be reading off the list of contenders, Washington said, “It has been an extraordinary year for television. The industry has never been more dynamic or inventive, and storytellers and content creators have never been more prolific. We are thrilled to have these two talented and respected performers join us in launching another exciting Emmy season.”
