2018 Oscar Predictions: Make your early nomination picks right now

Gold Derby just launched its Oscar prediction center so you can make your earliest picks ever. Log your first round of picks now. Change later as often as you like. It’s important for you to share your early opinions so that they impact our initial racetrack odds, which are used by all users to wager against while competing for best accuracy score.

If you make — and keep — early predictions, you’ll be able to lock in favorable odds. Read contest rules.

We are offering six categories at this stage for your first selections — Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor. We will certainly add all of the other 18 categories over the next few months. To help get your bearings about all of these movies, read our excellent and detailed category analysis articles written by Paul Sheehan and Zach Laws in links at the bottom of this article.

The contenders you see in each category drop-down menu are based on the best information we have at this point from studios, campaigners and public relations reps. You will notice that some performers are listed in both the lead and supporting categories for now while final campaign decisions are being made. Any films without distributors or firm release plans for 2017 are not in our predictions center event yet. Don’t worry, though. That was the case last year until weeks later for such eventual Oscar nominees as “Fences” (with winner Viola Davis) and “Jackie” (with nominee Natalie Portman). Rest assured those other candidates will be added when confirmed.

Now, scurry over to the predictions center and let us know your choices today! You’ll be competing against thousands of others, including top movie experts who cover the film industry throughout the year plus our own Gold Derby editors.
