2018 SAG Awards nominations scorecard: Fox Searchlight, Netflix lead

Nominations for the 24th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 13. Among film studios, Fox Searchlight leads with seven nominations. Four of these are for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.” A24 is in second with five bids, including three for “Lady Bird.”

Over on the TV side, Netflix dominated the nominations with a staggering 19 bids. Among these are four apiece for the streaming service’s drama series “Stranger Things” and comedy series “GLOW.” HBO is second with 12 nominations, including four for its limited series “Big Little Lies.”

These awards, honoring the best achievements in film and television performances for the year 2017, will be presented on Jan. 21, 2018 on both TNT and TBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Morgan Freeman will be feted with the Life Achievement Award.

The SAG Awards nominations were decided by a randomly selected nominations panel comprising 2,500 members of the merged Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists unions. The winners will be decided by all 121,000 members of SAG-AFTRA.
