Celine Tam will certainly be in the “America’s Got Talent” final according to the results of a poll taken after the singer earned a standing ovation on the second “AGT” quarterfinal. More than one-third of readers say she will be crowned the season 12 champ next month while another third say she will at least be in the top 10.
This small girl with the big voice had been put straight through to the live show back on August 1 when she won over guest judge Laverne Cox who hit her Golden Buzzer. Tam had delivered a flawless version of “How Am I Supposed To Live Without You,” a song made famous by her namesake Celine Dion.
Tam, who was the second act of the night on August 22, finished first with many viewers who were wowed by her solo version of the Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston duet “When You Believe.” She had all four judges singing her praises and has racked up the most YouTube views of 12 contestants in this quarterfinal.
We first met Tam on the June 20 audition episode when she sang Dion’s signature song, “My Heart Will Go On,” the 1997 Oscar-winning theme to “Titanic.” Tam’s parents were such fans of the Canadian chanteuse that they named both Celine and her little sister Dion after her. The talented tyke first revealed her adult-sized voice to her father when she was just three. Since then, she has learned a load of songs in Dion’s repertoire, including this classic tale of lost love.
Do you think that Tam can overtake frontrunner Darci Lynne Farmer and win season 12 of “America’s Got Talent”? Vote in our poll below. Our current odds have her the top five but there is still one other quarter-final that is packed with talented contestants.
