Darci Lynne Farmer is the breakout star of “America’s Got Talent” this summer. This talented 12-year-old from Oklahoma is a singing ventriloquist. We met her on May 30 in the first audition episode of season 12 of “AGT.” Back then, she inspired Mel B to hit her Golden Buzzer after watching Farmer make merry with her puppet Petunia the rabbit as they duetted on “Summertime,” the ballad from the George Gershwin opera “Porgy & Bess.”
That performance sent Farmer straight through to the first live quarterfinal on August 15, where she introduced Oscar the mouse. Her new puppet admitted he was in love with Mel B and dedicated his performance of The Jackson 5‘s “Who’s Lovin’ You” to his new love.
Farmer will be back on our screens in several weeks when she competes in the “AGT” semifinals. We can’t wait to see what she will do then. After doing a little digging, we discovered that Farmer made an appearance last year on “Little Big Shots” with Steve Harvey. She and her sidekick, Katie the singing cowgirl, wowed the crowd with a foot-tapping number that you can watch above.
Might Katie be making a return appearance on “America’s Got Talent”? Farmer is favored to win “AGT” this September and claim the one million dollar grand prize as well as the chance to headline her own Las Vegas show.
