As is usually the case, this year’s Golden Globes winners were a mix of the expected and the shocking. But when was all said and done, which acting winner do you think gave the best Golden Globes acceptance speech? Vote in our poll below! (Editor’s note: We decided not to include Cecil B. DeMille honoree Meryl Streep in our poll because her speech about empathy would no doubt run away with the vote.)
On the film side, the six acting winners were drama leads Casey Affleck (“Manchester by the Sea”) and Isabelle Huppert (“Elle”), comedy stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone (“La La Land”), and supporting players Aaron Taylor Johnson (“Nocturnal Animals”) and Viola Davis (“Fences”).
And on the TV side, the eight winners were drama leads Billy Bob Thornton (“Goliath”) and Claire Foy (“The Crown”), comedy stars Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) and Tracee Ellis Ross (“Black-ish”), limited series champs Tom Hiddleston (“The Night Manager”) and Sarah Paulson (“The People v. O.J. Simpson”), and supporting players Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman (“The Night Manager”), though Colman was MIA.
