Paul was the runner-up of Season 18 who lost the $500,000 prize to Nicole Franzel by only one vote. (See the complete list of “Big Brother” winners.) He returned to the game this summer thanks to Kevin Schlehuber, the 55-year-old stay-at-home dad from Boston, MA, who decided to tempt the house’s fate in return for a $25,000 payout.
“Your boy is back!” shouted Paul as he re-entered the house for his second chance to win “Big Brother.” He immediately received mixed reactions from the other houseguests, including Cody Nickson who made zero effort to try to bond with the veteran player.
As the first day continued on, it was soon revealed that Paul could assign friendship bracelets to eight of the 16 players, thereby giving them safety for the night. He eventually chose to save Kevin, Raven, Dominique, Mark, Jason, Jessica, Ramses and Elena.
The other eight non-safe players competed in a competition where they had to stand on a balance beam and hold onto bars for as long as possible. At the conclusion of this “Tempted by the Fruit” challenge, three people ended up picking poisoned apples, sending them to the eviction block: Christmas, Cameron and Jillian.
Host Julie Chen allowed the trio a chance to campaign for votes, but in the end Cameron Heard fell short in the vote so he was eliminated after being in the game for only 12 hours.
