Billboard Hot 100: Camila Cabello (‘Havana’) puts pressure on Post Malone for the top of the singles chart

Last week former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello leapt into the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart with “Havana” featuring Young Thug. This week she takes another giant leap on the chart dated November 18. She’s up five spots from number-seven to number-two, which puts her within striking distance of the top of the chart, where Post Malone and 21 Savage hold onto their perch for the fourth week in a row with “Rockstar.” But can they hold her off much longer? Watch the video above to see what other songs made an impact this week.

“Rockstar” marks the longest running rap song at the top of the chart in 2017 with four weeks at number-one. It was the most streamed song of the week for its fifth nonconsecutive week, and it was the fourth best selling. But “Havana” puts the pressure on with its dramatic jump. It ranks fourth in streaming, where it trailed “Rockstar,” but it had bigger digital sales, ranking third in that metric.

Cabello’s rise is also significant because it means she has outdone her former girl group in terms of peak chart position. To date Fifth Harmony’s best showing was number-four for their 2016 hit “Work from Home” featuring Ty Dolla $ign. So it looks like Cabello is moving in the right direction since her December 2016 split from the band. She will soon release her debut solo album, “The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving.”

There’s one other song making significant gains in the top 10 this week: “Gucci Gang” by Lil Pump. The 17-year-old rapper rises from number-14 to number-seven with his breakthrough hit single. His self-titled debut mixtape was released on October 13.
