Billboard Hot 100: Post Malone stays on top for 6th week, Lil Pump & Imagine Dragons reach new highs

There’s still no budging Post Malone and 21 Savage from the number-one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. They’re still on top for the sixth week in a row with “Rockstar” despite a strong challenge in recent weeks from Camila Cabello‘s “Havana” featuring Young Thug. “Havana” is number-two yet again this week, though it’s now the country’s top song in digital sales. But there are three songs in the top 10 this week that have posted new highs. Could they threaten for the number-one slot in the coming weeks?

Lil Pump skyrockets to number-three from last week’s position at number-12 with his breakthrough rap single “Gucci Gang,” fueled by a 34% spike in streaming. This is the first charting single for the 17-year-old hip-hop artist, whose self-titled debut mixtape was released in October.

Also reaching new heights is “Thunder” by Imagine Dragons, which reaches a new peak by rising one spot to number-four. This is the second single from their third studio album “Evolve,” and it’s the second to reach the number-four spot, following “Believer,” which peaked in the same position earlier this year. Overall it’s the fourth top-10 single for the band, whose all-time high was their Grammy winning breakthrough “Radioactive” (2012) which peaked at number-three.

The other big gainer this week is Ed Sheeran, whose “Perfect” is up one spot to number-seven, the highest position yet for that love ballad. It’s the sixth top-10 single overall for Sheeran, and the third to come from his 2017 album “Divide.” He previously hit number-six with “Castle on the Hill” and spent 12 weeks at number-one with “Shape of You.”
