Caleb Reynolds ‘Survivor’ exit interview: Day 9 is his ‘curse number,’ and is ‘The Amazing Race’ next? [PODCAST]

“It stinks when you go play a show like ‘Big Brother’ and you last 93 days and then you go play ‘Survivor’ and you only last 18 days out of playing twice,” says “Survivor: Game Changers” castoff Caleb Reynolds to Gold Derby after being eliminated in the second week. Caleb was previously medevaced on Day 9 back in “Survivor: Kaoh Rong” (Season 32) and now he’s been eliminated on the same day in “Game Changers.” Is there a Day 9 curse for the reality TV star? “Maybe it’s the curse number, I’m not exactly sure. I think it’s just the accident of coincidence.”

Caleb blames the tribe switch for the reason he was ultimately eliminated. He tells us, “I was intertwined” with the old Mana tribe. “We were all so close and so knitted together. I was in a really good spot. Seven people wanted me to go to the end with them!”

So, if there had been no tribe swap, who does Caleb think was next in line to be ousted at his old tribe? Since Queen Sandra Diaz-Twine “wasn’t really a threat at the time,” he surmises that either Aubry Bracco, Michaela Bradshaw or Hali Ford would have been voted out.

Since Caleb has done “Big Brother” and “Survivor,” will “The Amazing Race” be the next CBS show on his plate? “I would definitely love to do ‘Amazing Race.’ My wife and I are both into fitness, we’re really healthy, we love this kind of stuff. It’s like that show is meant for us.”

Also in our “Survivor” podcast, Caleb chats about whether he’s bummed with Tai Trang voting him out, why he was ultimately eliminated instead of fellow underdog Hali, and how Brad Culpepper is running the game at the new Mana tribe.
