CBS schedules ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ opposite Olympics on NBC

CBS has confirmed that the first celebrity edition of its “Big Brother” franchise will air opposite the Winter Olympics on NBC in February. The reality competition series hosted by Julie Chen will get a head start on the sports fest by launching on Feb. 7. It will air four nights a week. On Friday, Feb. 9, the second episode will go up against the opening ceremonies of the 23rd winter Olympiad from Pyeongchang, South Korea. And the finale is slated for Sunday, Feb. 25 against the closing ceremonies.

In our recent poll, a whopping 60% of readers think that this version of “Big Brother” will be must-see-TV. Another 26% will tune in before deciding while 14% have no interest in watching. In all, the Tiffany network will air 18 hours of “Celebrity Big Brother” over 13 nights as detailed below

As for who will be cast on the show, CBS is keeping that secret for now. However, speculation is that several of the Americans who showed up on the hit British version of the show may make appearances. Among these on the wish list of viewers are Gary Busey, who won season 14, as well as Coolio and La Toya Jackson, who were hits on season six in the UK.
