Celine Tam performs on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Semifinals 2: Nine-year-old takes on ‘How Far I’ll Go’ from ‘Moana’ [WATCH]

Nine-year-old singer Celine Tam performed Tuesday night during the Semifinals 2 episode of “America’s Got Talent” 2017. Back in the Quarterfinals round Tam impressed the judges by singing “When You Believe” from Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Did she continue earning praises this week with her performance of the “Moana” song “How Far I’ll Go” by Alessia Cara? Watch Celine Tam’s “Americas Got Talent” recap video above from NBC’s reality TV show.

The four “AGT” judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel — were mixed on Tam’s performance, which is quite a rarity for this talented tyke who earned Laverne Cox‘s Golden Buzzer back in the Judge Cuts round.

Only one judge, Klum, gave Celine a standing ovation, which never bodes well during these all-important live rounds. While Cowell noted that this was the perfect song choice and Mandel wished her well, Mel B declared that the song was “way too musical theater.” Unsurprisingly, Mel B got booed by the in-house audience at the Dolby Theatre.

Will Tam make it through to the Finals of “America’s Got Talent” Season 12? Currently the five finalists are Chase Goehring, Darci Lynne Farmer, Evie Clair, Preacher Lawson and Sara & Hero. Let us know your thoughts down in the comments section.
