‘America’s Got Talent’ controversy: Did Colin Cloud cross the line with murder of Simon Cowell on live ‘AGT’ show?

Mind reader Colin Cloud caused controversy with his appearance on the third live episode of “America’s Got Talent” on Aug. 29. He brought the show’s executive producer and head judge onstage and announced that he was going solve “the murder of Simon Cowell!”

At that point, he asked Mel B to select an audience member who was told to think of a bad memory and write it on a piece of paper. After telling another audience member that she had been thinking of an ill-fated camping trip, he tells the first audience member to pick one of five knives as a murder weapon. He then asked Mel B to join Cowell onstage.

Cloud then turns his attention to the first audience member and reveals that her memory is of her Justin Bieber CD collection being stolen. After she confirms that is what she wrote, the mind reader tells Mel B to take the white knife chosen by the audience member and stab Cowell, which she does.

Turns out this was the only one of the five knives that was rubber and that the reason for the “murder” was that Cowell had been the one to steal the CDs, as evidenced by the plaque embedded on the beach on which he had been sitting for the duration of the act.

Cloud leads our predictions as the most likely act from these third quarterfinals to go through to the semifinals. But do you think he went too far with his act?
