After a six-year wait, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is finally coming back to TV. HBO confirmed that season 9 will start on Oct. 1 and released the teaser trailer above to to promote the return of Larry David’s Emmy-winning comedy series. He plays a (hopefully) exaggerated version of himself.
It was only a few weeks ago that HBO confirmed that “Curb Your Enthusiasm” was returning. At the time, David explained that he had a seven-year itch to make more episodes. “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’” Also back to make merry are co-creator Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, JB Smoove and Susie Essman.
“Curb Your Enthusiasm” already ranks as HBO’s longest-running scripted series, with 80 episodes to date. Thirteen of these featured Emmy champ Ted Danson as himself, who spars with David over various issues. He is set to recur on season 9 as is his Oscar-winning wife Mary Steenburgen, who has popped up in five episodes so far.
