‘Dancing with the Stars’: Drew Scott found the ‘Rainbow Connection’ for his ‘Muppets’ waltz [WATCH]

“Do you like the Muppets?” asked pro dancer Emma Slater to her celebrity partner Drew Scott on “Dancing with the Stars.” He answered, “I do like the Muppets,” before breaking out an impressive Miss Piggy impersonation followed by a Kermit the Frog impersonation that sounded to Slater more like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Thankfully Scott’s performance during his “Disney Night” Viennese waltz was better than his performance as Kermit. Slater wanted to make sure that Scott used his considerable height to his advantage on the dance floor without looking too “lanky,” and the result was a routine that scored two 8s and a 9 for a total of 25 out of 30. Watch it above.

“I was expecting Gonzo, and I got Prince Charming,” said judge Bruno Tonioli. “You’re getting more and more polished every week. And in spite of having the wingspan of a 747 you still managed to control the action very well.” Carrie Ann Inaba added, “That is my favorite song, so I have to say that I had high expectations because it’s such a passionate song. You two have become one of my favorite couples … The chemistry between you is absolutely pure, the give and take is with such ease, and your movements are becoming so fluid and so polished. You’re a contender in my eyes.” And Len Goodman concluded, “You know what I liked a lot was your footwork … I wasn’t too keen on you week one, but as you’ve gone along you’ve gotten better and better and I’m enjoying watching you dance.”

But Kermit the Frog also had a say, joining the judges’ panel to tell Scott and Slater, “You were both amazing. You floated across the dance floor like a pair of tadpoles who just dropped their tails … Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers, and Drew.” Kermit gave the routine a perfect 10, but alas Muppets don’t count towards the final score.
