‘Dancing with the Stars’ Lindsey Stirling’s freestyle was a ‘musical masterpiece’ on ‘crack’ [WATCH]

“The freestyle should be your brand or your mark,” said “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer Mark Ballas about the routine he wanted to choreograph for his celebrity partner Lindsey Stirling during the “DWTS” finals. Stirling, a violinist, described the concept for the dance: “We are conductors, and then we get swept away by the music.” And that was “meant to reflect [Stirling] to a T,” according to Ballas. “This is your moment … The whole thing represents how you embody music and how you command it and own it.” Ballas even included a bold moment where Stirling played her violin while dancing in hold. It certainly paid off with the judges, who finally put her back on top of the leaderboard with perfect scores. Carrie Ann Inaba said, “Last woman standing, kicking booty, taking names. Nobody cares what any of us have to say … It couldn’t have been a better showcase of your incredible uniqueness. That was you on crack.” Len Goodman added, “There’s no holding back, there’s no playing it safe. This is becoming the war on the floor. I’m so excited about tomorrow evening because I have no clue who’s going to win.”

Guest judge Julianne Hough said it was like a “Tim Burton, quirky, musical masterpiece of awesomeness. I love that you brought your element of who you are and how we know you … but then completely turned it on its head and made it something completely different. It was amazing.” And Bruno Tonioli concluded, “That was a modern classic extravaganza, conducted and orchestrated to perfection. It was so creative, so exciting. Bravo, maestro!”

All four judges gave Stirling perfect 10s for a total of 40 out of 40. When both of her dances from the evening were combined that gave her a perfect night with 80 out of 80. Those were her first perfect scores since “Movie Night” when she wowed with her sci-fi Argentine tango.
